What is Pint of Irish?
Pint of Irish began in 2011 in Southern California as a one-day event of learning Irish Music and Dance. The students expressed a strong desire to continue to learn and play. This "one-time" event took on a life of its own, and the journey truly began!
In 2013, Pint of Irish gained non-profit status and began hosting bi-monthly Celtic music seisiúns and promoted a number of house concerts in the area. Plans for an annual Celtic Music Camp, workshops, and other special events are in the works. POI dance leaders and musicians provide cultural programs in schools and community settings.
The mission of Pint of Irish is to promote interest and participation in the traditional dance, music, and related folk arts of Celtic cultures, and to support other groups and individuals with the same mission. Please see our Resources page to learn about our friends in the Celtic Community.
